Backups never seem very interesting, until your laptop is stolen or you accidentally pour red wine into it. But what if your backup drive goes missing too – or you pour white wine into that?
Since I’m a Mac user I can use Time Machine – their backup solution – which has got me out of a couple of scrapes so far. What folk may not realise is that you can use more than one backup drive with Time Machine. This then means you could keep one of the backup drives at a different location.
Sounds expensive perhaps – but if you ever decide to upgrade your laptop’s drive (such as sticking an SSD in it) you could repurpose the old drive as an extra backup – just put it in a caddy and you’re off.
